Building a Better Warren: Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership (TNP)

TNP is dedicated to empowering residents through programming and projects that improve the quality of life in Warren, Ohio. The organization’s vision is to transform neighborhoods into meaningful places where people invest their time, money, and energy into their homes and community; where neighbors have the capacity to manage day-to-day issues and feel confident about a bright future.

As an anchor institution in Warren, TNP focuses its resources as a community development corporation and a land bank to address the excess housing challenges due to a shrinking population. Founded through a collaboration with the Wean Foundation, the organization changed business as usual by hiring local resources to demolish, remodel, sell or repurpose abandoned houses.

“Being in the community and working here is a benefit,” explains Gary Honeywood, BABW team member. “I get to see Warren pick itself back up. It’s been a great experience. I had to learn construction skills and teamwork. This job has allowed me to see the individual efforts it takes to see changes.”
