WARREN, OHIO—OCTOBER 16, 2026—At its September meeting, The Raymond John Wean Foundation board of directors approved a community investment grant to Organización Cívica y Cultural Hispana Americana Inc. (OCCHA). OCCHA is a Youngstown-based nonprofit organization that advances economic opportunity for Spanish-speaking residents through programs and partnerships that promote stability and self-sufficiency. In 2025, OCCHA served 925 families and provided more than 5,000 services agency-wide.
The grant will support strengthening OCCHA’s workforce development programming, which provides navigation services that connect residents to job training, educational opportunities and employment resources. OCCHA also hosts regular job fairs and has increased attendance through bilingual outreach. OCCHA aims to grow its network of employers for job-placement referrals to 100 this year.
“We’re pleased to continue our partnership with OCCHA and to support its efforts to improve the economic mobility of area residents,” said Fallon Williams, senior director of programs and operations at the Wean Foundation.
“Our work is made stronger with the support of partners like the Wean Foundation,” said OCCHA Executive Director Angelica Diaz. “We provide critical resources to the residents of the Mahoning Valley and are grateful for those who believe in our mission and what we do.”
The Wean Foundation’s board considers Community Investment grants each quarter in support of viable solutions that address the organization’s strategic priorities. To learn more about the Wean Foundation’s grant opportunities visit weanfoundation.org/apply-for-grants/.
